Tyler Decker interviewed Kaydon Foster
TD: What is the music scene like in Kalamazoo, Michigan?
KF: The music scene is decent, but could be better. Hardly any famous artists are from Kalamazoo so we aren't on too big of a map. There are a couple cool venues but other than that it is okay.
TD: Have you ever heard of Narada Michael Walden?
KF: I have heard the name, but I do not think I have ever listened to his music. I know that he is from Kalamazoo but other than that I do not know much about him.
TD: What is your favorite music venue in Kalamazoo?
KF: I have been to District Square a couple of times and it is a pretty cool venue. I have a lot of fun with my friends when we all get together and go watch live music.
TD: What do you think could be done to improve the music scene in Kalamazoo?
KF: I think getting more venues and getting more popular artists to come out would definitely help the music scene up here. Since not much is going on up here, we should start attracting bigger names to come out and perform, especially in college towns.
TD: What is your favorite type of music? Have they offered concerts in this genre?
KF: My favorite kind of music is dubstep, and to my knowledge they have not offered any kind of dubstep concerts.
